Gaia Gardening Method For Poor Garden Soil

Demonstrating our Gaia Gardening Method that we use in either poor garden soil, or soil in need of amendments, here on the homestead. Gaia is an old word meaning Earth or Mother Earth. In Gaia planting, we use the Earth as our container for our plants and compost mixture. We still want to make use of the garden soil for its other qualities including it’s minerals and nutrients, as well as it’s ability to retain moisture.

The soil mix we are adding around the plants includes peat moss, garden soil, and composted cow manure. When watered, it also forms a compost tea, enriching the soil around the plantings.
